General requirements & Drivers Qualifications
All drivers must hold a valid driving license for at least 1 year. For more information over the accepted Driving License per country of origin.
For groups A, B and the driver must be a credit card holder while the minimum age is 21 years of age. If you do not hold a credit card in your own name then you can’t rent in Car First.
For larger groups the minimum age is strictly 25 years old.
Only drivers mentioned in the rental agreement are allowed to drive a Car First vehicle.
Yes, you may add an additional driver onto your rental agreement. This must be done at the time of rental. The additional driver must present a valid driving licence at time
of rent. You can also add an additional driver onto your rental agreement during your rental. To do this the driver and the additional driver can visit any Car First Rental location. The additional driver must present a valid driving licence and must comply with age restrictions.
Second driver in Car First is free.
DEPOSIT FOR GUARANTEE: For rentals in Greece, upon pick up of the vehicle, Car First will preauthorise an amount from the driver's credit card as a deposit for guarantee which will be fully refunded at the end of the rental, provided no other charges arise. Please note that the refund can take up to 14 days, depending on the issuing bank of the credit card. The amount of the deposit varies according to the car group.

- C, D, F, H, K, L, P, W, M, ZE, V3, V4, V5: € 500
- E, EM, DE, EE, EX, FE, N, O, NM, R, T, U, Y: € 750
- V, G, YL, 1, 5, 8, 7E, 8E, 9, 9E, 9F, SY, SE, V6: € 1,250
- YP, 3, 9L, 9X: € 3,000

No. Towing is a violation of the rental agreement and is not permitted under any circumstances.
When you change the return location a higher rate may apply. Please contact your local Car First Reservations Office for details.
Car First vehicles, including 4-wheel drives, are to be operated only on regularly maintained roads. Off-road use is in violation of the rental agreement.
No, you are not allowed to remove any of the seats of the car.
There is a 59 minute grace period. After the grace period has expired a full day’s charge will apply.
In the case you return the car earlier than the agreed delivery date, there will be no refund.
If you should have the misfortune to suffer a breakdown, you should immediately contact +30 6981585858 (available 24/7). You must also contact your Car First rental office.
You should contact the police immediately, and then contact the renting location and advise them on the situation.
No, there are exceptions for damages which are not covered by any insurance. Such cases are single damages to the lower part of the vehicle, wheels and tires. Also not covered are damages due to driving on an improper road surface, towing another vehicle, transfer of explosives, rallying, etc.
About your online reservation
Start by filing in the required information in the "Make a Reservation" box found in the home page. These are:
- Pick-up and return date and
- The pick-up Car First If the return location is different, please select the “I am returning this vehicle to a different location” tick box.
- The type of car you’d like to rent.
- The number of your Frequent Traveler card or, if you have, a promotional card.
On the second step, choose your preferred vehicle category and payment method and complete your reservation by filling in your personal data and credit card details.
Bookings are subject to a specific car group, which includes several different car models with similar features. You can ask for a specific model during the pick-up, whether it is available.
The minimum period for a car rental is 30 min and the maximum is thirty (30) days.
You can either choose to prepay the cost of your online reservation or pay at location. You can prepay the cost of your reservation, by using your credit or debit card. Please note that in case of using a debit card to pre-pay your reservation cost, you will also be asked to present a valid credit card for during the pick-up of your car.
Alternatively, you can choose to pay at location, upon the delivery of your car from the location you chose during the reservation process. To complete the reservation of the car, you will need to enter your credit / debit card.
Visa, Mastercard and American Express debit and credit cards are accepted. We do not accept prepaid cards such as Revolut, N26, Monese and etc.
Upon successful completion of your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email on the address you provided during your reservation.
No. In order to pick up the reserved vehicle, the card holder must present the card under which the reservation was made. The card holder will appear as the driver on the rental agreement.
