General Rental Terms

NECESSARY DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS

In order for a driver to be able to rent a vehicle from Car First, they must: 

Be at least 21 years old for Small, Medium, and Large Economy categories. For all other vehicle categories, the driver must be over 25 years old.

Possess a credit card accepted by Car First for the pre-approval of the amounts concerning the deposit, the down payment, and the payment of the rental cost (for non-prepaid reservations).

Hold a driver’s license for at least 1 year.

Have a Greek, European (for EU countries), or International (for non-EU countries) driving license.

CREDIT CARD – CHARGES

Internet reservations require the presence of a credit/debit card to be completed. In case of cancellation beyond the predefined time limits or no-show for vehicle pickup, a charge (as described in the “CANCELLATION, NO SHOW RESERVATION” section) will be made to cover the administrative costs by Car First.

For vehicle pickup, the cardholder with which the reservation was made must be present. The cardholder will appear on the contract as the driver. Most credit/debit cards including American Express, Visa, and MasterCard are accepted. Prepaid cards such as Revolution, N26, Monese, Crypto, etc. are not accepted.

If you choose to pay upon vehicle pickup, your credit card will not be charged, only pre-approved for the amount of €77 plus VAT.

DEPOSIT

At the time of vehicle pickup, a deposit amount will be held on the driver’s credit/debit card and will be fully refunded at the end of the rental, provided no other charges arise. The release of the amount may take up to 14 days depending on the issuing bank of the card. The amount of the deposit varies depending on the car category. Specifically:

• Small: €350
• Medium: €500
• Large Economy: €750
• Large / Including Mid SUVs: €1,250
• Premium / Luxury: €3,000

RESERVATION CHANGE

Changes to a reservation can be made through the “cancellation/modification of reservation” on www.carfirst.gr

Changes to the renter’s name, car delivery station, credit card number, or car category cannot be made. In this case, please cancel your reservation and make a new one.

CANCELLATION OF RESERVATION, NO SHOW

For prepaid bookings, if the cancellation is made up to 72 hours before the rental starts, the full amount of the reservation will be refunded to your card without any further charge. Otherwise, 75% of the reservation amount will be refunded to your card, along with a late cancellation fee of €40 plus VAT.

In case of no-show at the car pickup, the reservation amount will be refunded to your card minus the no-show fee, which is €77 plus VAT.

For bookings where payment is made upon picking up the car, cancellation will be charged 50% of the total booking amount. In case of a no-show at the car pickup, 75% of the total reservation amount will be charged to the card used for the booking.

If at the time of vehicle pickup the prospective renter does not meet the conditions outlined in the “DRIVER REQUIREMENTS” section, the reservation will be canceled. For prepaid bookings, as well as bookings where payment is made at the chosen branch, 75% of the reservation amount will be refunded to your card, along with the late cancellation fee of €40 plus VAT.

EARLY RETURN

In case of vehicle return earlier than the date shown in the reservation, there will be no refund.

AVAILABILITY

All reservations are subject to availability. In case we cannot provide you with the car of the category you reserved, we will try to offer you a car of the immediately larger category without any additional charge.

For reservations where availability approval (on request) is required first, prices may change without prior notice before payment and completion of the reservation.
